It's Been A While!

Hey remember that one time I said I was planning on updating my blog monthly? And then didn't write for over a year? Ha. Anyway, it's been a while.

Things have been great. I received a scholarship in March, which has been really sweet. I ended up changing my major to psychology. I actually started this blog because I was majoring in journalism and wanted to keep up a few different styles of writing to be more versatile, for those of you who didn't know. Long-term, I'm thinking either Marriage & Family Therapy or School Psychology. If you'd ever like to talk about that or have any connections, I'd love to talk with you in the comments below. :) I switched apartments. I'm starting research in the sociology department starting in January, which will be very exciting. A lot has changed!

I wanted to take a post to acknowledge that I haven't posted in a long time and I know it. I have a lot different ideas for posts. I'm planning on rearranging stuff a little bit. New sections, replacing old sections, etc. Not deleting anything, but reorganizing.

Here's some posts (and ideas I'm working on) to look forward to:

  • Finding academic success in college (from a scholarship student - yeah I'll brag about it).
  • Methods of Positive Psychology
  • Social commentary on my favorite things (this seems very "blogger"-esque. I'm doing it anyway).
  • Why development efforts haven't work in the past 60 years and how to make sure your aid and donations are actually helpful.
  • Religious/scriptural commentary (this is mostly for me - hopefully it'll be helpful for anyone else out there who would like insight).
  • How to have better relationships.
  • and lots more I haven't yet thought of.
Hope you're looking forward to reading. I'll be better at writing - I can't guarantee much what with being a full-time student (with FULL credits! Aaah scary), working part-time, researching, volunteering, trying to be social, and doin' me sometimes. But we'll see, and I'll try better.

If you're at all interested, check out my brother's blog. He's getting his PhD in mathematics (specifically topology, but don't ask me what that is, it's confusing). His blog is basically explaining what mathematics REALLY is, for those who are studying it, terrified of it, or failed out of it. It's great for novices or experts. Check it out here!
